Request for Comment, Revised Standards for the Preparation of Teachers in World Languages

The Standards for the Preparation of Teachers in World Languages have recently been revised and the Michigan Department of Education is now requesting public comment on these proposed Standards. The Michigan Standards for the Preparation of Teachers of World Languages will be used by colleges and universities and will serve as a manual for the preparation of candidates seeking certification and/or endorsement in world language instruction.

MIWLA is requesting its membership to read the document and provide feedback. These Standards will impact future student teacher interns as well as future colleagues. The public comments will be reviewed and considered in the final recommendation to the State Board of Education.
